I have been looking to get a UPS for my ONT but haven't been able to find a retail source. I tried to buy one from PSI directly but they wouldn't sell to me directly. I've seen a few used ones for sale on eBay, but don't want a used one.

The sonic FAQ (https://www.sonic.com/voice-data-battery-backup) says "You can purchase a UPS from a vendor like Amazon or Newegg" but I have been unable to find any that are specifically the DC UPS for the ONT. Sure, I can buy a big honking AC UPS but that seems silly for just the ONT which is under my house.

I believe that something like this: https://www.amazon.com/TalentCell-Unint ... B07WLD32RP would give you the 12v DC you need. It's rated for 8800mAh at 11.1V, so that's only about 8 hours at 1A (but I don't know how much your ONT uses). It might be that for a longer run time, a medium-honking AC UPS is less efficient, but cheaper.

It may also be worth exploring a DIY approach like a burglar alarm power supply with a 12v battery: https://www.amazon.com/Xenocam-Channel- ... B07DBSDJ59 , which you could possibly find additional things in the home to be powered by. I've got one in the closet from the previous homeowner's alarm install, but it is integrated with the motherboard of the old alarm and I've not investigated if it is separable.

I bought a big honking AC UPS, but I also have my router plugged into it, plus it gives me the ability to charge phones, laptops, etc., if needed. Granted, for me, everything's in a closet, but I figure the extra capacity could be useful.

Something like this is a good option too:
https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-ST625 ... 170&sr=8-4

They're wall mountable and provide a decent amount of power for backup.

The back-up typical battery that Sonic provides is a Model PS18L and it's 12 volts or 125 volt amps, 75 watts, and lasts 8hrs.

Anything comparable to that should work fine.

Kind regards,
