I apologize if this question has been asked previously. If Sonic is longer longer offering resold AT&T fiber, what will happen to existing Sonic customers receiving AT&T fiber? Nothing will change? A big price hike because AT&T raised the price? Forced to go entirely with AT&T? On a related note, the fiber to my house is all underground. When the AT&T technician installed fiber at my home, I looked inside the large AT&T box near the sidewalk. AT&T kept the existing POTS trunk line and was able to thread new fiber through the existing conduit under the street. Would AT&T allow Sonic to thread thread their fiber through the same conduit or is that wishful thinking. Thanks.
Hi Ken,
Yes, we recently stopped offering resold AT&T service for new orders/customers and now only offer our own Sonic Fiber service where it's available. All existing customers using resold AT&T service were grandfathered in, so the service itself will remain the same.
As far as using the existing conduit is concerned, we could potentially use it if the conduit itself isn't owned by AT&T and has enough room for another line. If you don't own the conduit, then we wouldn't be able to use it.
Kind regards,
