Tech Support has said AT&T has a widespread outage. Our service has been down since Monday Oct 3 at Noon. No estimated time to repair and no tech will be dispatched to our location while this “outage” is in effect.

ATT is having issues in Redwood City, too. Not sure whether they're related to the SF problems.

Since Saturday, connection attempts to sites can take more than a minute or fail entirely. Once a connection is established, throughput is normal. Other ATT fiber customers report similar experiences on Nextdoor.

I'm not seeing any errors on my router or ATT's gateway. Weirdly, ping, traceroute, DNS behavior is normal for the few Internet sites I checked.

I'm affected by this incident: has anyone found a place online with AT&T to follow the status of this incident? Thank you!

I haven't found one. The ATT outage page claims no Internet outages in the 94062 zip code. The Nextdoor post mentions a fiber cut. I still have some connectivity; it's possible the issue is congestion-related as ATT routes around that. It does not look like a generic ATT routing issue per RIPE stats (i.e., no unusual BGP activity on ASN 7018).

I logged a ticket with Sonic Support. Hoping that they can provide more details.

Serious problems since yesterday afternoon (Saturday October 8) in Redwood City 94063. Been troubleshooting for hours. Thanks for confirmation there is a real issue -- of course AT&T's site says no issues in 94063, so I thought it was just me.

It's intermittent: I'll run Google's speed test and I'll get 950 MBps, then 30 seconds later 0, then 30 seconds later back above 950 MBps. It's probably fair to say that it's not an outage but it's disruptive and our service is unusable for some activities (but at least I can post here!).

Yup. For awhile I thought it was just my wifi. Fast down, upload would start fast and trickle off to 0. Wired devices seemed fine. Then I started getting the same problems wired vs wireless. Power cycled my ONT, gateway, router, etc.

Once a connection gets going, eg, a stream, it works just fine. Web pages almost never load because SOME element causes them to hang/time out. I'd say I can post/read here about 1 in 10 times. It feels like data is being dropped though I don't observe packet loss on small ICMP packets.

HTTPS seems much worse than HTTP but that's not helpful because everything redirects these days.

I'll have to play with my work computer and see if my full tunnel VPN somehow keeps this from being an issue, otherwise I'm going into the office for the next.. indefinite amount of time.

Oh, big help. I've been troubleshooting this for hours now. I'm in ZIP 94062, too. Two Linux machines and an old Windows 7 machine all see the problem. Long DNS stalls, up to 18 seconds. Fails on the first HTTP transaction to a web server, then success. Errors in TLS handshakes. NS_ERROR_ABORT errors in Firefox.

Of course, not being a direct AT&T customer, I cannot do that.

Monday morning here in Redwood city, and the issue is still not resolved. It has been 48h of totally unreliable internet. We installed Fiber 10 days ago, and I have to say this does not bode well... I am glad I did not cancel Comcast right away, so we have a backup.

2 questions
* Is the issue resolved for people in Redwood city?
* Is this type of outages (i.e. 48h) frequent? Reason I am asking is that I am on the verge of cancelling this service. 2 days out of 10 days since installation is simply not acceptable.
