Hey everyone,

I've been playing around with my modem recently and have been trying to get the "LAN as WAN" feature to work. Assuming that is what it would take to use my own router/firewall with a public.

I'm looking to get the modem to bridge mode so that I can use Cisco or juniper router for IPSec tunnels.

Thanks

Bridging your modem effectively makes it invisible for TCP/IP purposes. The edge of your LAN would become whatever you have plugged in on your side of the modem.

Under the "Home" tab, click on the "Broadband" icon. Click "Link Configuration." Uncheck the "Enable (Default is enabled. Routing disabled = Bridge mode)" box in the "Routing" section. Save your changes. Reboot the modem.

Please note that our support staff can't properly support the modem in bridged mode, though we can often help switch it back to NAT mode for diagnostic purposes.

thanks for the info...I am fully aware of the repercussions.

Just have the requirement for doing IPSec tunnels for work.

Thanks
