New email icon, desktop notifications, sounds not working

It seems like the icon for new email, the desktop notifications and sounds only work for the parent inbox folder, and there aren't any notifications when something arrives and is filtered into another folder. This makes me think I may need to just have everything go the inbox and do all my filtering manually, which I was hoping not to have to do. Is this a bug? Being worked on or not? Any info? Haven't used Squirrel--maybe I should try that instead?

Is there any reason you're not using a local email client, such as Thunderbird or Outlook? Webmail is primarily for use when you're away from a machine you use regularly, where you wouldn't have a normal client application.
