Hi,

After reporting the issue in this post, it appears that SMC is working as intended. However, I'm hoping you can entertain a feature request:

There are two ways to control whether a call to my Sonic voice number also rings on my phone's the SMC app:

1) Using the Comm Portal on the Sonic website, uncheck "Enable Sonic Mobile Communicator" and disable the app completely. This requires website access and navigating through Member Tools. Hard to do if you're away from a desktop and only using your phone.

2) Sign out of your account completely in the SMC app. To use it again, you have to log back in with your Comm Portal password (different from the Sonic user pw), and you cannot make calls without signing back in.

It would be really helpful to be able to control whether calls ring through to your the SMC app from the app itself. Essentially being able to change the "Phone Status" SMC from the app without having to sign out or disable SMC altogether from the Comm Portal. I imagine lots of people would like to be able to place calls using SMC but not receive calls. Or disable both without having to log out of your account in the app altogether.

Thanks!

Good afternoon,

We do not have a setting within the SMC app to temporaily disable calls ringing it. However, most cell phones and smart devices do have the ability to temporarily pause or disable an app without requiring a complete log-out. I did test this with an Android device to ensure it worked with the SMC application; The pause feature did work as intended and did not require I re-login after pausing and un-pausing the SMC app.

If this is a feature you'd like to see implemented into the settings of the SMC app directly, we can pass the request on to our regulatory team.
Thank you,
Krissy
