Hey all,

Does Sonic perform any user-accessible backups of the MySQL databases that back our hosted sites? I know (read: just found out on the wiki about two minutes ago) that they take snapshots of our static files (e.g., $HOME, WWW and CGI dirs), but the wiki doesn't specify if mysqldumps are taken. Of course I plan on doing my own backups anyway, but it'd be nice to know what Sonic already provides so I can plan around those backups.

Yes, we do backup customer SQL databases (of course!) but they aren't usable accessible and are, generally speaking, for our disaster recovery purposes only- we charge for digging them out of our systems and restoring them. It is a great idea to take your own backups in any case.
