Speed will vary based upon distance, so customers in any given region will see varying speeds. You could only really compare in a valid way if your next-door-neighbor was a customer.

How many feet are from the CO?

I'll be moving to Alameda in a month and my new address is 8,000 feet away so I'm trying to estimate the speeds.

8,000ft averages about 6Mbps/1Mbps, FYI.

At that prequalification distance, our average delivered speed is just under 3Mbps. But, that's an average, and there's quite a bit of variability - we have customers getting as little as 1Mbps, and as much as 8Mbps. Quality of the copper, interference, and quality of the household wiring make for a really, really broad range. This is the primary reason we do not estimate speeds on our website.

Hello,
We are on Bay Farm on Mangrove Ln. Is that too far to get a good speed/reception?

I'm sorry, it's not possible to estimate based upon a location description. You can check for service availability for a specific address on the website, at http://sonic.net/
