Cannot connect to Ethernet connected RaspberryPi

Hi, I'm trying to SSH into a RaspberryPi that I was using at my old home address as an ad blocker.

When logged into the router admin, I see that the device is connected with a MAC address. However, the router is not assigning an IP to the device, which in turn means I can't SSH into it or use it as an ad blocker.

Any advice on how to have the router assign an IP to an ethernet connect RasbPi? I have the ARRIS BGW210-700 here.

Prior to installing pi-hole (I'm guessing), could your RPI get a local IP address over Ethernet?

Yes, was working before, trying to reassign ip to the pi now.

Just to update this thread -- I was able to reassign my RasPi to work in the correct range, but now I'm seeing this router has no DNS server options...

Looks like you'll have to have Pi-hole be the DHCP server.

As you mentioned it looks like that modem doesn't allow dns settings. I see a couple options.

1) As rtrinh said you could setup the pihole as a DHCP server.

2) If you have an extra router use that with the Arris in passthru mode.
3) If you don't have that many clients, setup the client dns settings to point to the pihole manually.
