Suttle adsl2+ Whole House Splitter Wiring

I just made the switch over to Fusion service and I need help wiring a Suttle 649A1 whole house splitter.

I originally I had ATT DSL for over 10+ years when they still came to your house and installed DSL service at your home with a static IP. That is, if you can remember the Alcatel modems. Several years later they came back and upgraded me to Speedstream 4100 modems but the service was still adsl 1 technology. Their full install service was great. They set me up with a Siecor whole house splitter and wired separate jacks - one for voice and another for data all to different rooms.

I was ready to swap over the Siecor adsl (original ATT) to Suttle adsl2+ whole house splitter but the wiring is different. The Siecor has FOUR color coded wires (red, green, yellow and black) and a thick ground wire screwed in the middle. Inside the box, it is not labeled as to which pair is for voice or data. The Suttle box has SIX screw terminals nicely labeled Network, Voice, Data in pairs but no terminal for standard ground wire. If anyone knows how to wire this up please reply. I tried sonic's tech support and they suggested I try here.

The ground wire should be redundant in this set up. If your MPOE was installed properly, it will have a ground.

The pair from the MPOE should go to the Suttle's "Network" pair.

Trace the wires from the Siecor and determine which are voice and which are data. Likely red/green is voice and yellow/black is data, but not necessarily.

If it's not easy to trace the wires, perhaps you can post a picture, preferably one that includes the MPOE and the wires leading away from the DSL splitter?

Earlier DSL spliters didn't bother having a "Data" output, since the network line was typically run (unfiltered) directly to the DSL modem, with the output of the filter feeding the rest of the house wiring to supply regular phones. That's whey there's only two pairs (4 wires) on the old filter.

In your setup, you'll need to find the house pair at the MPOE (input side of the existing filter) that is routed to the location of the modem. That pair should be moved over to the "Data" pair of your new filter.

So I had time this weekend to do the swap and were unpleasantly surprised to find out Suttle model 649A1 is an "adsl" splitter (NOT adsl2+ as told by sonic.net support). I'm a little peeved that he told me buy this exact model after I told him I just switched over to their Fusion adsl2+ service and if support had any recommendation. He confidently replied this brand and model number. Now I'm possibly stuck with an unreturnable opened package and lots of wasted time.

Of course, a quick Google search will yield a list of adsl2+ compatible splitters. To be sure it's adsl2+ compatible, look for "ITU G.992.5" support in spec sheets. Anyhow, if someone here have a recommendation please let me know. TIA.

I've finally switched over to sonic.net from att. I've talked to you at slickdeals a couple of times under a different username. Yesterday, when I posted my last message, I didn't notice I wasn't logged in. Anyhow, my username here is thomashong.

So what adsl2+ whole house splitter does sonic.net recommend for their Fusion service? Brand and model please. This was the original question I asked support.

P.S. I just found out I have the Siecor SPS-H70-SR1 originally installed by ATT almost ten years ago.

Our installers use the Suttle 649A1-49 (ADSL2+/VDSL2 compatible up to 30 MHz).

Thomas was correct that the 649A1 (without the -49) is only ADSL compatible.
