pfSense + VPN ideas ?!

I am considering buying a box with pfSense and looking for some ideas, data points.
If you have pfSense custom router + VPN (like ExpressVPN, private internet access, etc), what speeds to you see on 1Gb Sonic fiber?
What box would you recommend with VPN AES CPU support ?
