Fax machines on Fusion FTTN

I've been trying to fax with my Epson WF-610 MFC which is connected directly to my ATA but have been totally unsuccessful. It's only got 2 options for faxing (Disable V.92 and Disable ECM) which I've disabled to no avail. Baud rate can't be capped and seems to be too high as is.
Has anyone gotten fax working over FTTN and if so what make and model do you have? I think some HP's may be more resilient from reading on the U-Verse forums but Sonic's ATA's may be configured in such a way that introduces problems.
The Grandstream manual for the FTTN ATA shows a number of options for faxing and even making faxes more reliable over VoIP but the GUI is disabled once provisioned so I can't see what the settings are or attempt to change them.
Would really love to get fax working! Any suggestions appreciated.
