I have a small office with a Netgear ProNAS for network file storage that is backed up in the cloud by Egnyte Local Cloud. After installing a Pace 5268 modem with built in firewall, my NAS will not sync with the Egnyte Local Cloud. I get an error message saying that a firewall is blocking sync. I have gone into the firewall settings and tried to create an exception for the IP address associated with the NAS in the "Applications, Pinholes and DMZ" to no avail. Egnyte says that they do not use any particular port. Is there some issue with the Pace 5268? Are there other settings to try?

Hi,
I am sorry to hear about the trouble. I took a look at your settings and it looks like you are most of the way there but not quite. Once you have the device selected on the Applications Pinholes and DMZ page, look under "2) Edit firewall settings for this computer:" for user-defined applications. I see two rules under "Application List". You need to move at least one of the rules over to Hosted Applications. To do this, select the rule by clicking on it and then click the add button. The rule should now show up as a Hosted Application. All that is needed now is to click the save button at the bottom right hand side of the page. You will also need the default system password of the modem to authenticate the change. The default system password, by default, is located on the left hand side of your Pace 5268 right below the wifi key. Please let us know if you still have trouble.
