Does Sonic still consider itself a local company?

I have been a Sonic member since the 1990's. I chose Sonic back then in large part because they were a small local company and I feel very strongly that we should support local business. I found that they offered great service and reasonable prices and I have been a customer ever since. Unfortunately, these days I am a customer in name only (I maintain an email account). After moving from Petaluma out to Duncans Mills three years ago I was informed that Sonic had discontinued it's local dsl service in favor of fusion, which I had in Petaluma, and that the service was not available in my area and there was no estimate of when it would be. I am now in the process of moving to Forestville, and when I called about service I got the same answer I got three years ago. I am currently without internet service, having found both ATT and Comcast impossible to deal with, and so am consigned to the library and the public net. Imagine my disappointment to find that the local company I had supported all these years has seemingly abandoned local customers in pursuit of more lucrative markets. So my question is, does Sonic still consider itself a local company, or a telecom corporation that happens to be based in Sonoma County?

Sonic has service in Forestville. There were discussions earlier in this forum about the upgrade of that CO to VDSL (one method of delivering Fusion).

Thank you for your reply. This is news to me. Whenever I have checked online or on the phone I have been told that there is no service. Can you direct me as to how to set this up?

Update: Called sales and apparently there is service to part of Forestville but not my part, so there is nothing they can offer me. Don't know what my options are at this point, but seems Sonic isn't one.

So sorry to hear that.
