We have been having a very similar problem. We also have had sonic for several years. Very recently our internet connection has become intermittent. Sonic sends an AT&T tech to try to fix the problem. There have been 3 in the past month. Tech does minimal investigation and tells us we are to far from the hub.
We have a friend who is very Internet/network/computer savvy. He says most likely sonic has taken on more customers than they can adequately provide good service to and the customers on the outer-most boundaries will see the problems first. I think we will change internet providers.
Good luck getting it fixed.

Your friend isn't correct on this point. The issue at longer distances is signal attenuation and signal interference. It's not too many customers, it's simply that at greater distances, less speed and reliability is possible with copper.

This is one reason we are working to build fiber in more and more places. It overcomes many limitations of copper, including the distance issue.

We've been having the same issues as well. We've tried a few different things through tech support, but unfortunately none have worked.

We were hoping to be able to upgrade to the GB plan since we received the flyer, but the sales team called to tell us that it wouldn't be available due to one of the utility poles needing an anchor. :\
