Lifeline Program for Low -Income Consumers.

Over the last few weeks I have been emailing Sonic to determine if I can avail myself of the Lifeline Program for Low -Income Consumers.
The response has been that they are not familiar with this service,
“I'm not familiar with lifeline phone service, but I do not believe there will be a problem with getting that as well”
I pointed out that I am paying for this service and am not benefiting from it. This is the item from my bill.
Voice Federal Universal Service Fund Fee 1.79 1.79
I am eligible and would appreciate the financial relief that the program offers.
In Sonoma county there are many low-income consumers and seniors who would benefit from this program and some who depend on it for phone and Internet service.
Why not from Sonic?
Sonic is paying the fee for this program and the FCC allows them to pass it on to their customers but they do not provide the service.
My fiends and I changed to Sonic because of the good things we heard about Sonic.
Is this not a good thing?
Thanks, Ian
