Autopop - Advantages/Disadvantages

I tried so find a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of using Autopop to simplify the migration from another ISP (in my case, Earthlink) to Sonic. If one exists, I did not find it.

I struggled to set up 2 email accounts in my mail client (Mozilla SeaMonkey,) one for Sonic and one for Earthlink. Now that I've managed that I'm having a hard time finding that it provides me with any advantages. I just have 2 folders I need to check and keep in order.

Any insights?

Thunderbird, which is another Mozilla product, allows one to choose either to have a separate inbox (or folder) for each mail account, or a single inbox to cover all mail accounts. However, that selection must be made when the mail accounts are first added; it's not possible to change the type later.
