I ordered Fusion on August 8th and I STILL don't have service. I heard nothing from anyone for a week, then an AT&T guy showed up at my apartment building utterly unannounced. If a friend hadn't been around to let the guy in, this nonsense would likely be taking even longer. Subsequently, two more AT&T technicians came over the course of several days, each one an escalation from the last. Again, no one from AT&T or Sonic told me that this was happening and made no arrangements for building access. Fortunately I ran into one of them on my way to work, and the other was let in by my neighbor.
After all the AT&T nonsense, I finally got an email from Sonic saying that my service was active--only it was not. Now they're telling me that the earliest a Sonic technician can be out to fix it is September 9th! Waiting more than a month for internet service is simply unacceptable. Sonic allegedly has great service, but I've seen no sign of that.
At this point I guess I'm going to cancel and go with Comcast--their speeds are faster, their service is cheaper, I don't have to rent their equipment, I don't have to pay for a land line I'll never use, and they don't require a contract. Perhaps they can even actually give me internet access! I hope that Sonic has the decency to pay the return shipping on their equipment, but given what I've experience so far I sincerely doubt it.
I really wanted to like Sonic, even forking out the extra dough for slower speeds since I hate Comcast so much. But the service has been just as bad, if not worse, than I've had in the past from Comcast. After spending a month in my new apartment without internet access, all I can say about Sonic so far is: just horrible.
