I am hosting my domain through sonic but want to manage email through Godaddy Office365. Godaddy requested I create a TXT file on my DNS settings. When I created a TXT file on sonic member tools, it created the @.mydomain. When I go back to Godaddy and clicked verified it still does not recognized it.

I am guessing I will be modifying my MX recorded also but not at this step.

To create a TXT DNS record go to this url:
https://members.sonic.net/websites/name ... ayServices
Click 'Modify' on for the domain that you are working with,
then under the 'Add a new record' section, change the 'Type' dropdown to 'TXT',
Input the record you were told to create in the 'Record' field then click 'Add Record'
