I happen to work for this company and I can't say enough about how happy I am to give my service to it. Dane Jasper, our CEO, breaks all the rules in the Money-Grubbing Corporate CEO Handbook -- he treats all of us like gold and makes us feel like valued members of not just a team, but a family. Dane is modest, kind, generous, approachable, and visible to his employees AND customers. What's more, I can honestly say that I speak for all employees here at Sonic when I describe him. In my first interview here when I applied for a job I expressed concern that while I felt like I could offer a solid customer service background to Sonic, I wasn't the world's most "techie" person. The senior staff member conducting the interview said, "That's okay, we can teach you the technical stuff but Dane mainly wants you to be a nice person." I ask you: what CEO in the history of Corporate America ever expressed that sentiment??

The vitriolic way you describe Dane makes it obvious that you have some other beef with him or Sonic but you are supremely mischaracterizing him and this company and I just couldn't sit in silence after reading your words. I feel happy and lucky to work here and to work for Dane.

It's very difficult to take you seriously by the way you present yourself. If you are genuine, then you should be able to give concrete examples with adequate support for your position. Additionally, this is normally not the media through which you address your problems--not professional and respectful at all; that is, even if you have legitimate issues with Dane and/or Sonic.

I'm certainly open to constructive criticism of the business, and even of myself personally. I'm pretty pragmatic about what we do here; we work to create a virtuous cycle of happy staff who make customers happy who tell others to sign on with Sonic. As we then grow as a result, we are able to spend more on features for our customers, on network expansion and upgrades, as well as on compensation and benefits for staff.

Balancing those goals and our financial resources is my role and responsibility, and I do the best that I can to help create success for customers, staff, and the business.

I can assure you that I don't have the time or the energy to "harass users", and I've never deleted customer data from their shell account. Those accusations are unfounded, and coming from an anonymous source, are worthless.

Well...... I definitely stand behind/in-front of Dane. His company is stellar. How many telcos/ISPs can you Tweet directly to, or engage in a Google Hangout with, the CEO?

Look, some aspects of Sonic can be frustrating. I was on a leased AT&T phone line for their Fusion service (had to switch to AT&T, bleh, because of pressure from the roommate....), and it was quickly antiquating... But, most of that is outside of Sonic or Dane's immediate control. And rolling out a new last-mile network is NOT an easy feat... But, if you're disgruntled, profanity and claims made without evidence won't help your case.

I've been a sonic customer for over 10 years. I've never met Dane but have never had other than a friendly and helpful experience with customer support. Two years ago I had some frustrating glitch and the tech guy no only gave me advice that fixed the problem but went into the history of the problem as well as enough technical background such that I had a much better understanding to be able to take care of it in the future. You just don't get service like that anywhere else. When employees aren't happy, it shows up and that's not the case here.

The other day, another long-time Sonic user and I were talking over other, cheaper, DSL alternatives. We both agree that we wouldn't get the level of solid tech support elsewhere on the (rare) occasions we needed it and, as such, continue with Sonic.Good customer support is worth a lot.

Your post reads more like an angry child throwing a tantrum than like someone with a legitimate complaint. Dane won me over years ago when he helped me with a special request (through a third-party forum, even!) while I was considering signing up. Since then, I have consistently referred people to Sonic, and except for one or two cases where physics were to blame, every single one of them has been happy with the service.

It's really hard to believe this post is real...reads like a troll...and really doesn't fit any of my experiences. What is a "megaomanic" anyway?

dane jasper owner of sonic is a megaomanic who thinks he can toppling the ISP monopoly by offering a better service at a fair price, who harasses his users by continually upgrading Sonic to include awesome standard features like internet fax, web hosting, & web email. and deletes files out of the shells of users he doesn't like suchs as the general ledger entries for the CEOs of Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, etc.

It makes perfect sense when put into context.
