I was wondering if Sonic had looked into providing larger IPv6 allocations to customers? While I realize that even the granted /60 represents more addresses than anyone could possibly need, the problem is that some IPv4-v6 transition technologies (such as stateless client auto-configuration) depend upon a /64 allocation. With that being said, it limits the amount of networks that a /60 can be split up into. Like many other users configuring IPv6 on their local nets, I have set mine up for some testing which has made multiple networks a necessity.
Hurricane Electric is said to grant users who have activated their free tunnel a /48 (from a /64) after a short amount of time. I was hoping to get a larger allocation from my provider of choice prior to going to someone else.** Is this possible?
Thanks in advance,
iansito
Extremely Satisfied, SONIC.NET
** My intention is not to bad-mouth Hurricane Electric, but rather to point out that some organizations are giving away IP allocations that are not currently available from SONIC.NET.
