Voice Options - SonicWiki

Enable Caller ID Blocking (Calling Number Delivery Block)
*67 may be used to activate blocking on a per call basis
*82 may be used to deactivate blocking on a per call basis

It seems that *67 is not working. Here is the test:

Sonic phone line #1 is set to anonymous call rejection via Sonic settings.

Call from another Sonic phone line #2, on the same exchange, using *67 before placing the call.

Phone line #1 rings (should reject all anon calls) and shows caller ID as the actual calling phone number, although *67 was used at the beginning of dialing the call.

With AT&T there was an audio signal when engaging *67 to acknowledge (quick pulsed interruption of the dial tone.)

It seems that *67 Caller ID blocking does not work for a Sonic Fusion phone line, in this test.

Is this how *67 is intended to work?

Same behavior if line #1 calls #2 or vice-versa. The two lines have separate Sonic accounts, but in the same phone exchange, same CO.

Possible explanation?

Caller ID Blocking

With Caller ID Blocking, you can prevent your phone number and caller-id information from being presented to the party that you have called. Please note that under some circumstances Fusion-to-Fusion caller-id information cannot be blocked and will always be presented to the the called party.

I'd say it's "not working". Since you don't know if the party you're calling is a Sonic customer or not, you cannot count on blocking to work. This problem was reported over a year ago:

This is a problem, and I'd remind anyone from Sonic.net reading this about Cal. Pub. Util. Code § 2893, which makes it clear that Caller ID blocking is a required feature, with no exception for other lines belonging to the same carrier.
