switch my Sonic-provided fax number to a voice (cell) number

I'm thinking of (maybe) finally getting a cell phone. I'd like to keep my Sonic landline, but it would be very advantageous for me to be able to begin using my Sonic-provided fax number as a new cell phone number. Is it somehow possible to make such a transition?

You should be able to move your sonic fax line to any provider willing to port the number for you.

If you port the number we've assigned as a FaxLine number over to your mobile phone, fax wouldn't work - it'd simply be your mobile number. A single number cannot both be a FaxLine here, and a mobile number at a mobile carrier.
