Hello I connected the Sonic Modem/Router when I received it today; I'm still connected with my former DSL provider..hopefully I'm switched by next week!

Anyhoo, I had a question. Maybe, I'm worried about nothing, but the max rate for my line shows as 11MBPS. My residence was marked as 1.2k ft from the CO, so I thought I would see it higher (is it because my line is still with the former isp?); I know nothing about how this works. Will the max line rate change once the connection/service is switched to Sonic?

Thanks!

That sounds a lot like your modem is synchronized in ADSL1 or ADSL2 (as opposed to ADSL2+) and is simply reporting the maximum possible speed the equipment it is currently connected to. At 1.2kft I'd expect significantly higher speeds using ADSL2+.
