As AT&T slowly drops their copper landlines how will that affect current Fusion subscribers over time? I love my Fusion service, and I know nothing lasts forever, but does Sonic have a plane for when AT&T "cuts the cord"? I doubt if Sonic Fiber will ever make it to my neighborhood in San Jose so what to do?

There are no plans to eliminate copper, just their own retail POTS (plain old telephone service) and other TDM services such as T1. Copper is integral to many current and future products. UVerse for example is in most locations simply DSL over copper, just like Fusion is in most locations. (In some locations Fusion is fiber.)

Thanks. Does Sonic have any fiber plans for the San Jose area, specifically the Evergreen Area of South San Jose?

We will build fiber in all areas where there is an adequate number of signups. The required amount varies based upon the cost of construction in each area.

Well I signed-up a long time ago. Doesn't that count  Seriously though, I'd love to have fiber down here.

Wouldn't we all! Looks like Google might beat Sonic to San Jose, though. ;-)

If Google ends up being our only choice, I'll pass.

I would take them over comcast and ATT any day.

Fortunately, I don't have Comcast nor AT&T, just Sonic. And being as I'm only about 2800 copper feet from the CO, Fusion is mahvelous :D

I don't have them either, just sonic legacy DSL, so I'm in a far worse boat than you. ;-)
