Weather station needs help

It has been pouring rain all morning (finally!) and I thought I would compare my rain gauge to that of Sonic's. Mine indicates about 2 inches since midnight, which might be a bit high, however the Sonic weather station rain gauge says 0.14 inches. I think that much rain has come down since I started typing this.

It may be time to clean the bugs/bird's nest out of that rain gauge!

Yep, usually we remember to clean it up after the first rain storm. We'll get up on the roof to take care of it sometime tomorrow - it's too bad that it didn't catch this storm.

Nice to see that the weather station is now detecting the appropriate amount of rain. Thanks for fixing it.

What rain gauge?

Ok, I'm a newbie here at Sonic. What/where is the rain guage/weather station? Are there other tidbits that Sonic has that I have not stumbled upon?

http://sonic.net/wx As for your second question, probably but I'm not sure what you have found so far either. :)

There should be a "Easter eggs of Sonic." I continue to learn new things all the time.

I think it's a Vantage Pro 2 weather station, and it's mounted to the roof of our headquarters in here in sunny Santa Rosa.

Have you checked out our Tradewars server? We've got Legend of the Red Dragon and other classics, too.

Thank you, thank you all! I'm so used to att that I forget that there are still companies with real humans and fun ones at that! The weather station is very cool. I'll know where to look if I ever head to Santa Rosa. I tried to check out the Tradewars but it wasn't loading and timed out. Modzilla said it may be too busy. I see I'm not the only one up at all hours.

I found that the wiki.sonic.net has the listings of the other games you have. I'll have to give it a try. Guess it's time to upgrade my skills from pong and pack man. :) Yes, at one time those where high tech as far as most were aware. In 76 my cousin worked for Texas Instruments as a geek long before they were called that, and for Christmas he sent us a computer console, basically a big box with a keyboard. The screen was the tv. In order to do anything with it you had to program it yourself. My kid sister who was 5 not only could set up the games in the code manual but she even figured out how to create three men dancing - can can style - from one side of the screen to the other and back. Alas, when she hit junior high she suffered the same fate as many girls - the dumbing down so she wouldn't intimidate the boys.

I digress. If one would like, shoot me what other toys sonic has.

Again, thank you all.

If you really want to check out the weather around Santa Rosa (and other parts of the nation), you need to visit the weather underground site, like:

http://wxug.us/1jv5s

(Sorry for the short link, but the full link is rather monstrous.) This is really one of the best sites for weather info.

A nitpicking comment

I do enjoy the looking at the weather page; it seems to work pretty well and generally agrees with what I am seeing at my home. However, the one thing that I cannot figure out is the sunrise and sunset times. They are off by well over an hour. Is there a logical explanation for this? For example, for today:
Sonic Actual
Sunrise: 5:47 am 7:24 am
Sunset: 6:32 pm 5:20 pm

I thought maybe the location was wrong, but the latitude/longitude numbers seem right; so do the dates.
