Any plans to expand Sonic Fiber to the Daly City / Pacifica area?

Hi, currently using Sonic in the Daly City/Pacifica border area via AT&T’s resold service, with 60 down/7 up speeds for $78/month.

I planned to hop on Sonic’s higher speeds & then upgrade to Fiber when it eventually rolled out to my area, but Sonic said AT&T raised the contract prices and they decided not to renew, so I’m stuck on 60d/7u until Sonic can roll their own Fiber in. And unfortunately, our household is starting to need higher speeds than 60/7.

So my question is, are there any recent plans to roll out Sonic Fiber in the Daly City & Pacifica border area?

AT&T Fiber rolled out a year ago but I don’t really want to switch because we’ve had poor service & customer support experiences with AT&T, but they offer 1000 up/1000 down for $80/month. But if Sonic is rolling out Fiber in my area within a year, I’ll stay on Sonic til I can upgrade.

Please let me know, thank you.

Hello,

As a Sonic customer, you are automatically part of our ongoing evaluations of fiber network. Your neighborhood is a part of ongoing team discussions, engineering evaluations, and possible expansion opportunities. While we don't have a forecasted go-live date yet for your area, we will update you via contact email on file to let you know when we do.

Our goal is to improve the quality of Internet service in America by expanding our own 10 Gigabit Fiber. That being said, fiber expansion is an enormous feat, and building out infrastructure will take some time.

Thanks a lot for the reply. But I’m guessing from your reply that the area I’m in is still quite a ways from being ready (I’m used to it, our block was the last one to get AT&T Fiber in the area).

If my household does decide to switch to AT&T Fiber, will I still be notified via email when Sonic Fiber is ready to roll out, even though I’m no longer an active customer? Or will the email notification happens around the same they start putting up the door hangars in the service area?

Unfortunately, I don't have a detailed timeline for your area right now.

When Sonic Fiber goes live in your area, you will be notified via the door hangars or by a field sales representative. You wouldn't receive a notification for migration if you were not a Sonic customer. However, if/when we announce fiber expansion in your area, you will likely be able to sign up to "request fiber," thus ensuring you are one of the first Sonic customers in your area to be installed once the build-out is completed.
