I created a group, added emails gave it a name (list@sonic.net - sent a test and I was the only one to receive it - I got these two emails:

Your mail to 'Sacrc-group' with the subject

test

Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.

The reason it is being held:

Post by non-member to a members-only list

Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive
notification of the moderator's decision. If you would like to cancel
this posting, please visit the following URL:

If you reply to this message, keeping the Subject: header intact,
Mailman will discard the held message. Do this if the message is
spam. If you reply to this message and include an Approved: header
with the list password in it, the message will be approved for posting
to the list. The Approved: header can also appear in the first line
of the body of the reply.

I'm totally new to this, and have no idea how to finish setting up the list so that everyone receives messages

Any help is appreciated

It looks like [email protected] isn't a member of the list (even if you're the list owner).

For this post, you can click that link and give it your list admin password and "release" the post (let it get sent to the list).

You probably want to add yourself to the list membership, but if you look around in the list settings you can also add that address to a list of non-member addresses that can send to the list.

I got it working (I think I just stumbled into it) - when I was adding users from our excel spreadsheet I was copying and pasting and forgot that my email address in the excel file was my old one - corrected that!
