Hello Walnut Creek Neighbors:

I just moved to Walnut Creek from Danville on 9-7-2024. (Unfortunately, Danville is a COMPLETE Fiber DEAD ZONE, even for AT&T. The city of Danville is REFUSING Permits for trenching to AT&T. So, Sonic wouldn't have much luck there either.)

On a whim, in my second week of being at my new apartment in WC, I decided to check Sonic Availability. I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED to see that my new WC Address IS AVAILABLE. I decided to call Sonic to confirm, and was told that 'YES', your new WC Address is in 'Pre-Order' status, and will go live in December 2024.

I have Pre-Ordered and am eager to CUT Comcast-XFINITY, ASAP!

ANYONE on Creekside Drive in Walnut Creek SHOULD go ahead and check Sonic Availability. I'm signed up for 10Gb Symmetrical.

Good Luck, EVERYONE! :-)

I wanted to add, I'm going to lease a Router from Sonic. (Any Updates/Equipment Upgrades would then be covered under the Modem/Gateway Rental Fee.)

Quoted Monthly Premium at $49.99, and includes e-Fax and VPN.

In approx. 1-Year, I plan to switch my Vonage Land Line over to Sonic, then Monthly Premium goes to $59.99, and includes a VoIP Fax Line, (Upgraded from the e-Fax), and that will reduce my VoiP Land Line expenses and save me over $100.00 a year on phone service.

At $59.99 a month, I estimate approx: $720/Year Total to Sonic and based on what Voange charges on their Annual Prepay Plan, (60 Countries), Sonic's VoIP Land Line would be $360 of the Total Cost, and Internet at 10Gb Symmetrical would break down to $360 of the Total Charges. NO OTHER SERVICE I know of out there can match this!

UPDATE:

Okay, I had a bout of insomnia, tonight/this morning.... Hence, I'm UP at this ungodly hour of almost 3AM....

I decided to do an Update Check on 'Availability' of Internet and Installation progress in my area. I have found that my area in Creekside Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94596 IS READY for Installation, NOW!!! :D :D :D

Just about a week ago; however, it looked like they were pushing back from my promise of 'some time in December' all the way into January of 2025! NOW; at Warp 10+, they've changed to NOW!!!!!?????!!!!! INCREDIBLE! I'm actually going to have 10Gb Symmetrical Internet BEFORE the promised 'December 2024' Date!

I will be calling the 1-855-394-0100 Number from the 'Check Availability' Site to set up my new Install Date with Sonic Fiber! (Though, that Site Page states I should already have received an e-Mail from Sonic to set an Install Date; I have NOT yet received such an e-Mail....)

After I get my Install Appointment set and locked in, I'll provide another Update. God Bless, and Good Luck to everyone in the 94596 Zip Code of Walnut Creek; I hope others in 94596 find that they, too, are available for immediate Installation of Sonic 10Gb Fiber!!!!! :D :D :D

Sincerely,

UPDATE:

OK, some time today, the MDU Team is meeting with the Apartment Management Team here at Four Seasons Apartments of Walnut Creek, (On Creekside Drive. 94596 Zip Code Area.)

Once the meeting concludes, the MDU Team will draw up the Installation Proposal. Then, it 'could' take two, (2), weeks for Four Seasons to approve said Proposal. After that, Sonic.com WILL send me an e-Mail to set up an Installation Appointment.

At present, my Sonic.com Account holds an order for an 'eero 6' WiFi MESH Network Node. I've requested that this be changed over to 'Upgrade' to the 'eero MAX 7' WiFi-7 Protocol Capable 'Tri-Band' MESH Network Node. Nathan in Tech Support said that since I DON'T, yet, have an 'active' Install Date, the Account CANNOT be modified at this time. HOWEVER; on the day of Installation, the Installer CAN make 'modifications' to the Order as necessary to complete the Install, AND I CAN Upgrade to the MAX 7 MESH Node on that day, at that time. :D :D :D

EDIT: NOTE: The eero 6 MESH Node is $5 Per Month ADDITIONAL Fee, AND the eero MAX 7 MESH Node is $20 Per Month ADDITIONAL Fee. (These Fees are PER Node.) I will be going with the eero MAX 7. (Wired throughput at 9.4Gb of the 10Gb provided by Sonic.com Fiber. 4.3Gb Wireless throughput over the MAX 7's 6GHz WiFi.)

eero MAX 7:

General Information: https://www.eero.com/shop/eero-max-7

Support Information: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/artic ... eero-Max-7

General Setup Information: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/artic ... e-my-eeros

So, I'm getting closer!!! :D :D :D

UPDATE:

After speaking with Alex, (Alexandra-???), MDU Coordinator this morning - it looks like she was able to break through the resistance at Four Seasons Apartments of Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek, CA 94596....

Tomorrow, 12-24-2024, a 'Test'-Install via the conduits of the Apartment Complex will be attempted by the MDU/Installation Team(s) to see if the Complex's conduits are conducive to the Sonic.com Installation Processes. IF all goes well, we're now looking towards Mid-January 2025 to Late-January 2025 for my possible Installation Date in my apartment unit.

HOWEVER; as Comcast-Xfinity bills at the end of each month for a 1st of each month's ACH Debit, I'm going to be looking towards 2-7-2025 for my new potential Install Date at my apartment unit. :D :D :D EDIT: (AND, then CANCELLING 'The Evil Empire' Comcast-Xfinity!!!)

I will keep posting and updating as progress is being made. :)

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to ALL!!!!!

Thread EDIT - Take 2: The Thread Title Edit DIDN'T take....

Trying again....

Hmmmmm..... @Dane, or @brandonc: I CAN'T seem to get the Thread Title changed.

I wanted the 'Modified/Edited' Title to be: "RE: Creekside Drive, Walnut Creek, CA - Sonic NOW Installing at Apartment Complexes in the area!"

Two Sonic vans were in the area of Four Seasons Apartments of Walnut Creek, AND two more Sonic vans were down, (West), on Creekside Drive, in the area of Bridge Apartments.

Per my 12-23-2024 Post, after calling and getting updates from Alex, she stated that on 12-24-2024, (when I saw the four, (4), vans in the area), that Teams would be 'Test' Installing Fiber from the Pole(s), through the conduits of Four Seasons Apartments. (The complex I'm in.)

So, as Installation is progressing and moving forward, I wanted to change the Thread Title. (Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.) :D :D :D

[UPDATE:]

I, again, spoke with Alex, (yesterday, 4-18), and discussed with her the ONGOING 'Dragging-Of-Feet' by Four Seasons' Apartments' of Walnut Creek, CA in the 94596 area....

It seems, (per Alex), that the, (several), "Corporate' owned Apartment Complexes ARE NOT yet allowing Sonic Fiber to be installed along the route of Creekside Drive, (94596), area of Walnut Creek!!! THIS IS NOT a City Issue, NOR a Permitting Issue - either.... This is SIMPLY 'Ownership' Issues of these Complexes. Supposedly, this 'COULD' be because of 'Verbal' Contracts, (or even 'kickbacks'), from the COMPETITOR - 'COMCAST - XFINITY' to these Complex Owners. This becomes, NOW, a 'Monopolistic' ISSUE, AND possibly 'Legal', per Alex.

Anyone else experiencing these 'DELAYS'??? (Perhaps Dane can weigh in here??? Legal, (from Sonic), MUST have ways to 'break' the Monopoly HOLD on these Complexes!!!???!!!)

Everyone,

So, after speaking with Alex last Monday, 4-21-2025, I found out that 'Local Ownership' has changed for Four Seasons' Apartments of Walnut Creek, CA.

Alex and I spoke for quite awhile; and she wanted me to call her yesterday, (4-28-2025), at 2:00 PM. Due to circumstances beyond my control, (which made me LATE), I was NOT able to place my call to Alex until 2:44 PM. I DID leave a MSG on her VM.

I'm now waiting to hear back; BUT, with our last discussion - essentially, now that Ownership has 'changed hands', she HAS resubmitted the Sonic MDU Team's proposal for installation of Fiber to the four, (4), Resident Buildings of the Complex to the new Ownership.... Until some more time has passed, Legal will NOT be involved. Though, Alex AGREES that this Complex is ONE of the LONGEST 'Processes' to get Fiber installed, already.

She also states that the other three, (3), or so Corporate Owned Complexes on Creekside Drive ARE ALL dragging their feet on getting/allowing Sonic Fiber to be installed. We surmise/assume that 'somehow' because COMCAST-XFINITY is ALREADY on premises in these Corporate Complexes that there 'MAY' be some kind of 'UNWRITTEN' Contracts between these Complexes AND COMCAST, OR - COMCAST is giving 'SOME KIND' of 'Kickbacks' to these Complexes for 'MONOPOLIZING' ISP Provision to COMCAST ONLY. (This is where Legal 'MAY' eventually get involved.)

THERE IS NO City, (Walnut Creek), Permit Issues, NOR EXCLUSIONS for Fiber Installation.... Single Family Homes DO NOT have these issues, and CAN have Sonic Fiber installed AT ANY TIME convenient for the Homeowner(s).

94596 ZIP Code of Walnut Creek IS HUGELY popular, AND Sonic, (for SFH), is being installed ALL OVER the place! It's just a matter of time, now, for these Complexes, (which are Multi-Dwelling-Units, (MDU), that are dragging their feet), to come around.

My take is that the FIRST Corporate Complex on Creekside Drive to ALLOW AND GET Sonic Fiber installed will see a MASS EXODUS FROM the other Complexes and gain HUGE INCREASES in Residency due to the availability of '10Gb Symmetrical Fiber' from Sonic.

@brandonc:

Brandon,

On Wednesday, 11-27-2024, I contacted Tech Support at 1-707-522-1000 and spoke with Joe. He informed me that "...several attempts have been made to contact Four Seasons Apartments' Management Team...." Apparently, Jose, nor Adriana, of the immediate Office Management Team have called, (nor e-Mailed), a response.... (Four Seasons Apartments' Contact Info: e-Mail: [email protected] and Office Team Tel: 1-925-947-0844.)

So, I then called the Four Seasons Apartments' Office at 925-947-0844 and have left a detailed VM that such contact by Sonic.com has been made, (several times), and that Sonic would like to set up a meeting with them for the Site Survey; and to go over 'Installation Practices' and then come to an agreement/arrangement to start installing Sonic.com Fiber Internet for customers.

What else can be done to start expediting the process??? (NOTE: Jose and Adriana, apparently, report to 'some kind of Ownership' in Utah....)

It's frustrating that they have NOT responded to Sonic's attempts, yet.... (EDIT: The 'amcllc' in their e-Mail Address refers to a Corporate Entity of 'AMC, llc' a Limited Liability Corporation. Again, somewhere in Utah.)

EDIT: Found AMC, llc: https://www.amcllc.net/default.asp

AND, their 'Contact Us' Info: https://www.amcllc.net/contact.asp (e-Mail 'Msg Box' at this 'Contact Page'.)

AMC, llc Tel: 1-801-565-7430

Address: 1954 Fort Union Blvd, Salt Lake City, UT 84121

I hope that all of this helps Sonic to 'break through' whatever the 'barriers' are for Four Seasons Apartments of Walnut Creek.... (Good Luck, and God Bless.)

[UPDATE: 6-25-2025 at 9:30 AM:]

NOTE: The above Quote comes from the "Facility Management" Thread. I am pasting this here to help facilitate 'EASIER' search parameters for the MDU Team, (specifically for Alex, (MDU Coordinator)), to be able to continue 'research' and 'planning' to address CONTINUING issues at Four Seasons' Apartments of Walnut Creek, CA 94596.

"Facility Management" Thread - DIRECT LINK: viewtopic.php?t=18111&start=10

I spoke with Alex, (MDU Coordinator), yesterday, (6-24-2025), at approximately 1:15 PM - PDT. She updated me on Sonic's current 'Progress' in obtaining 'Installation Access' to the Complex, AND ALL buildings therein.

We ARE AGAIN in a 'Holding Pattern', NOW waiting for a FINAL DECISION from Davidon Homes, ("DH" as mentioned by Property Management at 1357 Creekside Drive), AND I mentioned to Alex, (in a follow up VM to her), that "DH", or Davidon Homes IS, (AND HAS BEEN), the "Caller ID"-Name that comes across when the Office Management, (Jose, (Manager), and Adriana, (Assistant Manager)), call in to me on my Vonage Landline. This HAS BEEN the case SINCE last September of 2024; when I moved in here.

Alex has been 'informed' that AMC, LLC has 'subbed out' to "DH"; or, that "DH" is a 'New Owner' of Four Seasons Apartments of Walnut Creek. This info came in to her a couple months back.... YET, I informed her of my above statement, that "DH" HAS BEEN on the 'Caller ID"-Name that ALWAYS comes across on my Vonage Landline WHENEVER the Office Management Team at Four Seasons calls me....

Alex, (further), has been given a 'NEW' Contact Name of a Desiree as, (now), "Upper Management", OR "The Higher Ups", as mentioned to her by Jose at Four Seasons....

SO, as of yesterday, (6-24-2025), Jose states that ALL PRIOR info AND Documents AND Plans for Sonic to Install, (per the prior Proposals by Sonic WAAAAAAY BAAACK in January 2025), have been 'passed up the chain' to this Desiree..... AND, that 'DH and Four Seasons are NOW obtaining and gathering information on 'Options' to COMCAST-Xfinity and 'other Fiber Services' that might be available to compare with/against Sonic to provide alternatives for availability to the Residents of Four Seasons....' - Per Jose at Four Seasons' Office. Alex states that this 'info gathering' SHOULD yield a response back in about a month, according to Jose at Four Seasons, and that 'DH' would make contact with Alex at that time.

Alex and I discussed these 'Options', AND THERE REALLY ARE NONE THAT COMPARE with Sonic. NO OTHER Fiber Service can match the SPEEDS, the SYMMETRICAL OFFERS, AND the FREE VPN, AND FREE e-Fax AT $49.99 INCLUDING Taxes AND Fees Per Month that Sonic offers its Customers!!! FURTHER, as a Customer, IF you go to ATT Fiber and check availability at my APT Address at Four Seasons, ATT Fiber states, "NOT AVAILABLE at this address at this time!"....

EVEN when I moved in here, back in September of 2024, ATT Fiber WAS NOT available then, AND AT&T instead offered me a 'Combo' of AT&T 'Over-The-Air', (OR, '5G Gateway'), Service WITH a DirecTV Genie Streaming Box for $115/Mo PLUS Taxes and Fees - PROMOTIONAL PRICE!.... I asked their Rep about U-Verse, and was informed that this, too, is UNAVAILABLE to me here, AND I asked IF the '5G' Service being 'Over-The-Air' was 100% Compatible with my Vonage, VoIP, Landline Service. She REFUSED to answer that directly.... (As a FORMER IT Technician, I CAN state that NO '5G' Service WILL EVER be 100% Compatible with ANY VoIP Service like OOMA, OR Vonage....) NOWHERE in the SF Bay Area is Verizon FIOS Available, either....So, what's left for the Consumer/Customer??? (COMCAST-Xfinity, or '5G' Services.... BOTH INFERIOR to Sonic....)

So, here I am, (along with FIVE, (5), OTHER Sonic Pre-Order Customers at Four Seasons), NOW waiting for ONE MORE MONTH for a decision to ALLOW OR DENY Sonic to Install Fiber to this Corporate Complex....

I'm hoping for the BEST possible answer from Four Seasons, BUT Alex at Sonic states that IF they deny Sonic to Install, THEN LEGAL CAN FINALLY get involved here!

(Sorry for the LOOOOOONG Post and Update....)
