Fiber not available at our location so we have dual wired service at 40+mps
and want to know if sonic and att backup power during outage? If so then
we should provide backup power to our router to have service during outage?
Santa Rosa location.....thanks, pete

Hi Pete, Sonic and AT&T services do have backup power at the central offices in case of power outages, but the customer modem/router inside the home doesn't have a backup battery provided. You would need to purchase your own universal power supply and plug your modem/router into it to keep the service online during power outages.

Kind regards,

OK, amazing there is no power backup. Only reason to backup router with power would be if our
grid goes down and yours is still operating. So would there be access to sonic thru cell or fiber optic?

In the case of a local power outage, Sonic/AT&T infrastructure would still be online, but the in-home equipment would need a battery back-up for power to keep the service online. Well assuming the physical cabling from the central office to your home is still intact and not damaged at least.
