Thank you for reaching out regarding your fiber buildout timeline.
We run into multiple obstacles when building out our fiber services.
A few of the obstacles are overloaded poles and micro-trenching needs. Upon looking at your area, it appears the utilities that would service your address are above ground. This means a likely obstacle when getting fiber delivered to your home could be an overloaded or a bad pole.
Overloaded poles are poles we need to connect to that have failed and no longer meet standards and thus need to be replaced. This can be simple as the pole is old and weathered and needs to be replaced with a new one. This can also get into territory where we have to take into account aerial trespassing laws, and things get a bit more intricate. This can also mean that we place temporary poles and connect to those poles in the meantime. However, every situation is different.
Your area is currently in the Construction phase, so we are doing above-ground fiber cabling and underground work if needed. El Cerrito has been an enormous buildout for us and is a massive overhaul. I don't have specific details as to why your address got pushed back, but I hope my explanation above helps explain why you may see delays with the obstacles we face.
