I mean like literally right on the other side of telegraph. In the first building on one corner (mine), i get the SOL page when checking availability, and the first building on the the adjacent corner has 10Gb availability. I'm literally stuck with comcast, do you have any idea how much they suck? I'm paying over twice as much for 1/10th the bandwidth and at least 25x latency (probably more...i had the 10Gb service for a few months before i had moved, and i recall <3(that's not a heart, btw, though i did <3 it)ms ping to 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9, now it's like 20ish. I even have to pay an additional fee to use my own equipment because they cap your data if you don't rent their equipment (which doesn't even let you change your DNS servers, they say they have bridged/passthrough, but they're wrong. I don't they understand what those words mean.)

so like, i measured it. it's only 210 feet. even basic copper can push 10Gb that far. what do we have to do lob a cat6 over telegraph? the buildings are tall enough so i'm sure it's fine. we got this, i know it!

It'd be hard to comment without knowing where you're located. If we're talking about Telegraph in Berkeley, we do have service on both sides of that road, but seldom crossing it and with some pockets of unavailability due to underground utilities in the area, as well as poles that cannot be accessed.

If you said "NE corner of Telegraph & Stuart St" for example, it'd be easier for me to make a more informed response.

just wanted to revisit this, but then i had this brilliant idea, what if i say i'm a business, and i was actually surprised that it says it's available. so i know there's got to be a way we can make this work. and seriously, i'm fairly certain that no one in the city of oakland (the local government, not her fine residents) has any clue what they're doing and care even less. it'll be totally fun, and you'll get a whole new customer. a really cool one too.

also just out of curiosity, what are the criteria required to be considered a "business" in this context, and how would it be regulated or enforced? honor system?

p.s since i apparently only recently learned how to read maps, it's the southwest corner of 40th and telegraph.
