Sonic's position on CPUC Nov 8 R.23-02-016 Public Comment?

The CPUC opened proceeding R.23-02-016 to develop and adopt rules for implementing the Federal Broadband Equity Access And Deployment Program (BEAD).

Are there comments that I (or we) can make to facilitate the work that Sonic is doing? (Today may be the last day to file comments. https://apps.cpuc.ca.gov/apex/f?p=401:65::ADDPC::::)

I know that fiber is faster, safer, and more reliable than wireless for delivering high speed internet-- the purpose of BEAD. I am also a big fan of our copper ADSL that Sonic supports.

We aren’t participating in BEAD, so we don’t have any particular position on the program. We would of course prefer tax grant funds don’t go towards building subsidized networks in locations where we have already built fiber, but that’s not supposed to happen in these programs.
