Hi,

Is there any update on the construction timeline for Fiber in Redwood City? I pre-ordered Sonic in 2019, and basically received no updates since. About a year ago, a contractor for Sonic was hanging the steel support cables in my street. But the Fiber Status Tool still shows "pre-construction".

Should I resign myself to staying with Comcast for the foreseeable future?

At this point, we are still in the pre-construction phase of the build out in your area. We are unable to provide an accurate timeline or ETA for when we will be ready for installations due to the many factors that can increase/decrease the speed of building out the infrastructure. We will update http://sonic.com/fiber-status with an estimated go live date once we are able to provide one!

We apologize for the delay. We do encounter unforeseen complications or delays during our construction phase that are out of Sonic's direct control. This makes it harder to provide accurate estimates on when we'll be ready for installations in a given area. We do have a contract buyout however so if you need to enter into a new contract with Comcast and Sonic services are available during that term, you can switch to us and we'll reimburse you for any early termination fees (up to $200) you incur for breaking your current contract with them.
