Just for fun, I checked to see if 10g was available for upgrade and I'm able to request one. Notice the word "request". Doesn't mean 10g is available, just lets Sonic know you're keen to upgrade.
10g "Request Upgrade" available (for 94112)

Customers in all areas who are currently connected on fiber at 1Gbps can either upgrade or request an upgrade. The former means the central office (CO) is 10G ready and the upgrade is available today. The latter indicates that work is still pending, but you can request the upgrade now. And that request helps us understand the amount of demand in order to set priorities.

I also just requested an upgrade in San Francisco's Mission. It's great that the upgrade site/tool is finally available so Sonic can start getting market data and plan their upgrade roadmap.
Thank you for letting us know. You are helping us work toward delivering our fiber and continue to improve the Internet!jfa_roy wrote:I also just requested an upgrade in San Francisco's Mission. I have a question about the upgrade. I requested the upgrade, still not available in 94114.
I'm assuming if the moment comes we'll have to opt in before you send the isntall kit and before you charge us? Or you'll just mail it and charge the account... thanks

The request is an authorization for the one-time upgrade fee. We’d only charge you when the equipment ships.

That is the question. Let's assume the upgrade happens 1-2 years from now.. you'll just ship the equipment (and charge the account) then?. I travel often and it's hard to predict when I'm in the housedane wrote:The request is an authorization for the one-time upgrade fee. We’d only charge you when the equipment ships.
Yes, something like that! You could connect the equipment after you return, there will be a bit over a month available before the old equipment would need to be returned.soniclvr wrote:That is the question. May I suggest you ask us before you ship anything to finally process the upgrade? I'm gone for 2 months sometimes so this would be a problem. Clicked on 'request upgrade' to let you know there's interest but clearly will be an issue if you ship kit randomly in the future...dane wrote:Yes, something like that! We are seeking financial commitments so we can help fund the CO side upgrades and also to steer the priority we place on each CO, shelf and slot. So a process that would require confirmation wouldn’t be viable for us as many might request upgrades (which entails agreeing to pay for them) and then simply decline it after we made that investment.
