Hi,
I have a Asus RT-AX89X router that have 1x10Gb RJ45 and 1x10GB SFP+ ports.

I connect the Sonic 10Gb port on ONT to the router 10Gb RJ45 port.
Ans connect the 10Gb SFP+ port to the 10Gb SFP+ module to the PC.

When I perform the speed test on both Web browser and app. I unable to get the download speed over 1Gb. But the upload can over 7Gb.

Is Sonic limited the download speed?

I mean limit the download speed.

As you can see my download speed only got 1/10 upload speed.

"I mean limit the download speed."

Again, C'MON MAN!!! Why would Sonic do that???!?!!! They provide 10Gb service and then limit their customers to 1Gb?!

Please let’s be civil.

I wonder if it’s an issue with the Ethernet cable. Are you using a good Cat6e cable?

Other possibilities might be the network adaptor setup, or software on the device such as firewall or security software doing packet inspection and slowing things down.

But I’m guessing at cable or configuration of your device because it locks suspiciously like it’s connected at 1000Mbos, somehow.

That what I want to know therefore I ask.

If I know you won't see this post. Don't be so rude man.

And if you know how to fix this problem so that I can get max download speed then I will very appreciate!

Hi Dane,

I am using fiber DAC cable. From router SFP+ to my PC sfp+ port.

https://www.amazon.com/10G-SFP-DAC-Cabl ... 3724&psc=1

No FW rule or any on my configuration.

No other security software beside the Microsoft defender.

You can see the network card received 10.7Gbs on the 3rd Pic.

The Sonic ONT 10Gb port is connecting to Router 10Gb port with cat6 cable. I don't use CAT6e cable because the ONT to my router just 10ft. The CAT6 enough to get 10Gb.

Both ports on the router are set to 10Gb speed.

If that the cable issue, how can upload can over 7Gbps?

I agree that the sub Gbps seems suspiciously close to Gbps.

it would be interesting to check trace route and reverse trace route (path may not be symmetrical)
Is the PC fast enough to handle 10 GBps?
Try at different times (day or night)
Try to use cable in the other direction :-)

They may have other ideas at MeasurementLab.

Does the Asus support DPI and IDS? If yes, and it is enabled it's very unlikely that it's able to do it at anywhere near 10gbps. Does it export CPU stats or provide a graph?

What speed do you get if you connect your computer directly to the Sonic ONT, bypassing the router?

CAT6 is fine... I've got CAT6 (not CAT6a) running throughout my house and get 10Gbps with no issues.
