I understand pre-orders and getting fiber constructed can take a long time. Delays happen, yes I understand. I'm not asking for sonic to finish completing everything by tomorrow. But I would like to have some sort of update--an accurate update. My pre-order has been under construction phase for >6months and the forecasted date always give me an estimate of about 2months out from completion. Another month passes and the forecasted date gets pushed back another month. Almost at the 12 month mark since placing the order.

This is frustrating because I cannot make an informed decision on how to purchase internet from another vendor while I wait for sonic. I don't want to sign a contract with comcast (for example) since I don't know if sonic is finishing the pre-order soon. So in the meantime i'm paying some jacked up prices for internet w/o contract. Fiber construction could finish in the next 2 months or maybe not, maybe another 12 more months. Who knows?

Meanwhile I have been asking for updates for months and I get the same answer "there are no new updates". If there is a delay please just tell me that and keep me in the loop. Happy to become a sonic customer but man give us some better updates other than the generic messages.

We just haven’t had any success providing a reliable estimate. So we do the best we can given the info we have. But lots of things are outside of our control which cause delay, from city permitting delays to weather. For a long time we provided no dates, given their unreliability, but we have decided to begin exposing our current internal project management tools expected go-live date. You’ll find that in the fiber status section of the member tools website.
