Happy Sonic residential fiber customer here!

My building currently uses 2 AT&T phone lines for a Trigon "keyed entry" system consisting of two corroding keypads, which are frankly, pretty "jank." It requires us to pay the piper for POTS, which I'm not so keen on doing.

Turns out, we can upgrade to Akuvox or ButterflyMX, which runs on an internet connection. Yay! (And a monthly fee. Not so yay.)

I would just put the system on one of the unit's existing residential Sonic lines, but if that tenant/owner moves out and disconnects internet, access to the building is disabled.

Is it possible to order Sonic GPON for building use only? Maybe a Sonic Business line? I know Comcast won't do this because they think you'll try to split the connection across all units for revenue loss. I'm hoping I can subscribe to Sonic Business on behalf of the HOA! Is this possible? It would only feed the keyed entry system and a couple security cameras.

All tenants and owners will continue to pay for their existing residential lines.

Yes, that is possible, the HOA can just order a connection and use the voice line and the data. But as you note, sharing would be a violation of terms, so please don't do that.

Should this be a new Sonic Business, or a standard Sonic account?

You’d input the address and then select business instead of home.
