Is it possible to get SSH access to the servers?

FTP and SFTP access is not enough for what I'm looking to accomplish.

I need access in order to install software on the servers such as node.js, etc.

Thank you for your help.

Contact support and you can get access to a shell account.

I did contact customer support and they told me that SSH access was not a standard offering. They instructed me to post in the forum and to hope that Ops would have a solution.

Shell access can be enabled as posted above (with a call to support) however to install node.js you would need a custom hosting setup to have the level of access necessary to install the software. If you are interested in that service either call or email support and they can assist with generating the request for provisioning.

If you called up specifically asking for a shell-only account, you can expect confusion and delay. Shell access is included as a free service for any Internet-access service. We just don't have it enabled by default to avoid Bulgarian script kiddies signing up online with stolen credit cards and wrecking havoc.
