I am just getting the Sonic 10G optical service. so that i can use as much bandwidth as possible i was hoping i could set things up with a 1/2.5/10g switch in between the mesh wifi boxes and the ONT. that way even though my current mesh only has 1g wired ethernet i could get more bandwidth out of the wan. later moving to newer mesh wifi boxes with 2.5 or 10g backhaul.

i am concerned because of the issue of the ONT only supplying one public IP

has anyone actually done this ? sonic said i could but i am not convinced !

You shouldn't be putting a switch after the ONT.

Bingo. You'd want a 10G/10G router. Can't connect a switch and multiple routers or devices.
