I've been trying to send my mother email at her AOL address and it keeps getting rejected. I've tried it both from my home computer using Thunderbird/IMAP, and then using Sonic's webmail interface.

Anyone else seeing this?

We put in a request to remove us from that block earlier today. I don't see a response from them explaining why the block was put in place or when we can expect it to go away other than what their site says about "within 24 hours" of the mysterious cause going away.

Is this issue resolved now? or is still an open issue.

If resolved, can some one tell me what is the process to get it unblocked?

Hello Judith,

We were blocked by AOL this morning, thanks for reporting that to us. We reached out to AOL and had the block lifted around 13:00. Apologies for the outage.

I don't think Sonic is as much as a problem as AOL in this situation. AOL is fairly outdated and their incoming servers are way too delicate and will block mail servers much too easily. From what I have witnessed, Sonic is usually prompt and gets a request out within a couple hours. AOL is the one that takes so long to receive and process the request. I'm actually fairly surprised your business partner hasn't noticed this happening with other e-mail providers so far.

My email to a correspondent whose mail is processed by GoDaddy was blocked for several days last week. The bounce messages indicated there were "too many invalid recipients" in emails from Sonic's mail server.

This suggested to me that someone is sending loads of spam through Sonic's servers. The response from Support indicated that they are looking for one or more people whose computers are compromised.
