VPN and Win 8.1

I just tried to install the Cisco VPN client on a win 8.1 machine. The installer first refused to install to the directory it chose, but I eventually got it to install. Then it failed when I tried to connect with it with the message

The certificate associated with this connection entry no longer exists or failed to open. Please select another certificate.

Is this a problem with the client and Win8, or something pervasive at the moment?

Thanks for pointing me to the other thread. Somehow the install was set to Enhanced VPN. Fixed that, and I was set!

I had the same problem and it appears that installing in Windows 7 compatibility mode did the trick (recommended settings from 'troubleshoot compatibility'); I didn't get any cert errors after uninstalling and reinstalling with the installer in compatibility mode (and the installer told me to restart when it was done; which it did NOT do when I tried the first time).

However, I can't 100% confirm I'm using cert auth because it appears I'm still in Mutual Group mode (and the cert under Certificates -> View is an expired cert that is definitely not Sonic-generated), but I'm logging in as "Enhanced VPN" and it's working?

Hi,

I'm having a slightly different problem. After installation and re-boot, I start the client and press the "Connect" button and I get the following error message: " Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 440: Driver Failure"

I'm trying to run this on a Dell Venue Pro 8 running Windows 8.1 with the latest patches.

Any ideas?
