I had a LAN set up with my Legacy DSL, but now that I have this new BGW320 modem it doesn't work (duh) and I can't figure out how to set up a new one (I'm older and dumber than I use to be). When I go to the URL for the modem and go to the Home Network link I see that there is an app offered (by AT&T) to set up a home network, but it wants a log on to an AT&T account.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I’m not clear on what you’re seeking to do. Generally you’d just connect all of your devices behind the router. You can add a switch if you need more ports. There isn’t any configuration, it’s routed Ethernet with Network address translation, so you can connect tons of devices.

All I'm trying to do is to connect my laptop and my desktop wirelessly.

Oh, gotcha. The WiFi settings may be on a sticker on the side of the router. Or you can change th SSID and WEP key to whatever you used before and you won’t need to reconfigure your devices.

Hmm, but the question is how to log in to the router I suppose. I don’t have that info in my head, we’ll see if someone else knows and will reply.

When I had Fusion IPBB, the router login info was on the sticker on the side of the router/modem, along with the WiFi connection info.

@susanjom, hope you're already connected and don't need these instructions! Just in case, on the back of your BGW320, you'll find
  • WiFi Network: WiFi network name or SSID
  • Password: WiFi password
  • Device Access Code: the administrative password for the BGW320
You can change any of the above, along with LAN configuration, by browsing to http://192.168.1.254 while connected to the BGW's WiFi or one of its ethernet ports numbered 1-4. The WiFi network name and password can be changed by selecting Home Network, then Wi-Fi from tabs along the top of the BGW's web interface (you'll be asked to enter the administrative password above along the way).

If you can't connect to the BGW's WiFi or to http://192.168.1.254, pressing and holding the Reset button on the back of the router for at least 10 seconds will restore the default values printed on the back of the BGW.
