I just got Sonic early this morning at my home, after setting everything up I was shocked that the speed test over wifi were 60 megabits, while the wired connections rarely went above 100 megabits... I used to get over 600 with xfinity. I think I'm regretting the switch. Why is this happening? Have tried to reset and unplug and replug all the devices and nothing. I live in Oakland in the Bay Area

Since you're in Oakland, I assume you're on Sonic's Fiber service - this sounds suspiciously like a bad ethernet cable if you're not getting above 100mbps. Have you tried swapping out the ethernet cables between your ONT and router and/or router and computer?

I'd definitely want to try that as a first step. Also if you've not yet called into Sonic's support, you should! They'll be able to figure out what's going on.

Ethernet cable is 4 pairs of wires but 100BaseT only needs 2 pairs, so if one of the wires that is needed for 1000BaseT but not for 100BaseT it will degrade to 100BaseT (100 Mbps)
The LED on the side of some devices light different color when synchronized on 100Mbps or Gbps (like orange or green)
