Setting up Sonic Voice on UniFi Talk with UniFi ATA

Hi there,
I recently came into a UniFi ATA and was curious if anyone has had any luck adding their Sonic voice phone number to the UniFi Talk application?

Sonic doesn't provide SIP access to our voice platform, all devices are Sonic-provided and managed endpoints.

I would be curious to know the reasoning.
I think the e-911 location had been used as a reason but then the sonic app can be used on an android device to receive and place calls.
Maybe it's a way to try and cut down abuse.
I would love to be able to set trunking on my home phone system to sonic.
