Is the new XGS-PON service available in Brentwood? If not, is there any idea of when it will come? I am so interested in the new 10gb service.

We have not yet begun to upgrade any of the GPON (Gigabit PON) equipment we have deployed to XGS-PON (10 Gigabit PON) yet. Chip shortages affecting customer-premise equipment, as well as some process issues, power requirements, and more all need to be resolved before we're able to accomplish this. So, no firm timeline yet.

Hi Dane! It's been over a year since the last update on this post (and other similar questions posted). Just curious if we're any closer to getting 10Gb in Brentwood. Thank you!

Hello! We are still working towards finalizing an upgrade process for our current 1g customers to switch to 10g. We do not have an official timeline I can provide at this time. I would recommend checking the "Upgrade/Downgrade Service" option at https://members.sonic.net/ periodically.

The tool is live and some areas are already upgrade eligible. It’s just a matter of when it hits your neighborhood.
