Wordpress not allowing a new post, nor change theme, no publish

My Wordpress blog suddenly out of the blue for no reason, won't let me
add a new post
I can generate a quick edit, but can't publish it.
I thought to change theme to troubleshoot, but it would not let me do that.
Something got upgraded and now stuff won't work.
I do have the latest or fairly latest Wordpress. I have the updated version of my theme.
I didn't change anything. Did Sonic update the level of php. And that broke by blog?
This must be happening to a lot of people. Do these problems suggest a fix from anyone's experience.
I can ftp into my wp-admin directory, but all those php files is beyond me.
I was able to back up my content and themes. I'd like it to work again.

I read on this forum that people are re installing Wordpess, but the sql server interferes with that. I read that Sonic is getting out of the Wordpress hosting altogether, and is this their way of kicking us off?
