AT&T U-Verse Pace 5268AC incompatible with Intel i225-V network adapters

I got a new computer and was having trouble connecting the Ethernet to it. After a bunch of trouble shooting, the problem is only with the new computer and connected directly to the router (it works through a network switch in another room, but it's too far to be practical).
Getting in touch with the hardware experts, and this is a known issue with the Pace 5268AC that AT&T and Sonic provide and the latest Intel 2.5G network adapter, I225-V, which this motherboard and others from ASUS's latest line use (and probably more Intel MB makers starting this year): https://www.asus.com/us/site/motherboar ... 60-series/
The short of it is, does Sonic have a modern router that we can use that will be compatible with Intel's I225-V 2.5G ethernet port?
