For at least the last week or so, I've started getting (from home) a 502 code when I try to access the news server:

502 nnrp1.nntp.sonic.net: Access denied to your node - [email protected]

My usage hasn't changed as far as I'm aware. Anyone know what that's about?

Are you accessing news.sonic.net, and authenticating with your Sonic username and password?

I am. It worked just fine for (literally) a decade.

Pretty sure news access is limited to sonic.net IP space. Did you recently change internet access providers?

Nope, been with sonic for over a decade. This is at home, it's even a desktop. But it seems to have resolved itself in the meanwhile. <shrug>

Access is available outside the Sonic.net cloud by configuring the client with a Sonic.net user ID and password.
