Maybe we're going about this wrong. Maybe we should be writing to the city - both the mayor and our supervisor's office, asking them why they're making it so hard for Sonic to expand coverage when instead they should be doing everything possible to roll out more fiber in SF.

So much of the internet availability in SF is substandard. On my street (Treat north of Precita), our options are ADSL or Comcast (coax not FTTN/FTTH). There is fiber strung up on our poles, but it doesn't connect to anything. There is Astound/Wave coax but it doesn't connect to anything either. Why? Because there is an underground section from Precita/Harrison to Precita/Treat that has never been completed since it was undergrounded in the 50s/60s.

It's all very frustrating. No wonder tech workers are moving out of SF to other places. When your "vacation" cabin has faster internet than SF that's saying something.
